Rights Issue

Rights Issue manages an offer of new shares to existing members in proportion to their current holdings, at a set ratio and subscription price. The screen defines the offer terms and record date, computes each member's entitlement, then tracks take-up, payment and allotment of the rights taken. It lets the SACCO raise additional capital while protecting members' proportional ownership.

Workflow

Open Shares then Operations then Corporate Actions then Rights Issue.
Define the offer: ratio, subscription price, record date and response window.
Generate entitlements so each eligible member's rights are calculated.
Record take-up and payment as members accept their rights.
Confirm the issue to allot the subscribed shares and post the movements.

Notes & rules

Entitlement is derived from each member's holding at the record date and the offer ratio.
Untaken rights can lapse or be reallocated per the configured policy.
Allotments post subscription transactions and update paid-up capital.
The offer terms are locked once entitlements are generated to keep the calculation auditable.
