Pledges

Pledges records shares lodged as security against a member's loan, locking the pledged units so they cannot be transferred, redeemed or bought back while the charge is active. Each pledge links the share holding to the secured obligation and tracks its lifecycle from creation to release. A live pledge can block loan release in the lending module until the required cover is in place.

Workflow

Open Shares then Operations then Pledges to view active and released charges.
Create a pledge by selecting the member holding and the secured loan.
Enter the units pledged and confirm the lock on those shares.
Monitor the pledge while the obligation is outstanding.
Release the pledge once the loan is settled to free the units.

Records on this screen move through these statuses:

Draft → Pledged → Released → Invoked

Notes & rules

Pledged units are blocked from transfer, redemption, buyback and forfeiture.
A required pledge that is absent can hold back disbursement in the lending module.
The pledge links directly to the secured loan for cover monitoring.
Release is recorded with date and authoriser to close the audit trail.
