Higher education overview

EduPrime extends the same student-information core that powers K–12 schools into a full higher-education platform for universities, colleges and TVET institutions – built around credit-bearing programmes, term cohorts and academic transcripts.

Where to find it — App drawer → Higher Education → Cohorts.

Where the school side of EduPrime thinks in classes, streams and terms, the higher-education side thinks in programmes, courses, credits and cohorts. A student is admitted to a programme, takes credit-bearing courses each semester, accumulates credits toward an award, and graduates with a transcript. All of this lives on the same person record and the same fees, library, hostel and transport modules – you do not run two systems.

What the higher-education suite covers

The suite is modular – institutions enable only the pathways they offer:

  • Programmes & courses – degree, diploma and certificate programmes built from credit-bearing courses, organised into cohorts.
  • Credit transcripts – credit accumulation, GPA calculation and official transcripts toward graduation and awards.
  • Continuing & professional education – short courses and CPD with their own learners and certificates.
  • IB Diploma programme – candidate registration, subject combinations, internal assessment, CAS and the extended essay on the IB 1–7 scale.
  • CBET / TVET – mapping national occupational standards and assessing learners by competency.
  • Research management – grants, projects and publications.
  • Industry attachment & placement – internships, employer records and supervisor sign-off.

How it fits the rest of EduPrime

Higher-education records reuse the platform’s shared services rather than duplicating them:

NeedHandled by
Tuition, scholarships, dunningFees module (per-programme fee structures)
Library borrowing & OPACLibrary module
Risk & retentionBria AI early warning
Statutory reportingCompliance & returns calendar
Rooms & timetablingFacilities module
Tip — Start by defining one programme end-to-end – courses, credits and a single cohort – before rolling out the rest. The patterns repeat, and a complete first programme makes a clean template to duplicate.

The pages that follow walk through each pathway in turn. If your institution only runs short courses, jump straight to Continuing & professional education; IB schools should read the IB Diploma programme page; vocational colleges start at CBET / TVET.
