IB Diploma programme

EduPrime supports the full International Baccalaureate flow – registering candidates, building subject combinations, recording internal assessment, tracking CAS and the extended essay, and reporting predicted and final grades on the IB 1–7 scale.

IB candidate register
The candidate register links each student to their session, subjects and core requirements.

Candidates & subject combinations

EduPrime ships PYP, MYP and DP modules; this page focuses on the Diploma Programme. Register each Diploma student as an IB candidate for a given exam session (e.g. May 2026), capturing their candidate number and personal code.

Build the candidate’s subject combination – six subjects across the IB groups, each at Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL):

GroupExample subjectLevel
1 Studies in Language & LiteratureEnglish A: LiteratureHL
2 Language AcquisitionFrench BSL
3 Individuals & SocietiesHistoryHL
4 SciencesBiologyHL
5 MathematicsMaths: Analysis & ApproachesSL
6 The Arts / electiveVisual ArtsSL
Tip — EduPrime validates the combination against IB rules – typically three HL and three SL, one subject per group – and warns if a candidate’s selection is out of pattern before you submit registrations.

Internal assessment, CAS & extended essay

Beyond the six subjects, the Diploma core is tracked per candidate:

  • Internal assessment (IA) – each subject’s IA component is recorded with the internal mark and moderation status, feeding the predicted grade.
  • CAS – Creativity, Activity, Service experiences logged as a portfolio with reflections; the coordinator marks the requirement complete when the learning outcomes are evidenced.
  • Extended Essay (EE) – the subject, research question, supervisor and submission milestones are tracked, with the EE grade recorded against the candidate.
  • Theory of Knowledge (TOK) – essay and exhibition grades, combined with the EE for the core points.

Predicted & final grades

Each subject is graded on the IB 1–7 scale (7 highest). EduPrime records two grade sets per candidate:

  1. Predicted grades – the school’s forecast submitted to the IB and used for university applications.
  2. Final grades – the official results once the session closes.

The total Diploma score sums the six subject grades (max 42) plus up to 3 points from the TOK/EE matrix, for a maximum of 45. EduPrime computes the total, applies the pass conditions (e.g. minimum points, no failing conditions), and flags any candidate who fails to meet award requirements.

Important — Predicted grades are sensitive – they influence university offers. Restrict edit access to coordinators and lock predicted grades once submitted to the IB; the audit trail records who changed any grade and when.
