Roles and access

Each desk is one dropdown on the standard user form — Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Reinsurance, Actuarial, Configuration, Compliance & Audit and Administration — and each level carries the access and the buttons that go with the job. The add-ons bring four more: Reinsurance Manager, Appointed Actuary, Certificate Clerk and Stock Custodian.

DeskLevels, lowest firstWhat changes between them
UnderwritingSales & Service › Underwriter › Senior Underwriter › Underwriting ManagerA senior underwriter may approve a referral only up to their own binding authority; above it, the manager approves.
ClaimsClaims Assessor › Claims Handler › Claims ManagerThe assessor registers and investigates but moves no reserve and no money. Settlement past a fraud review band waits for the manager.
FinanceCredit Controller › Finance Officer › Finance ManagerCredit control works instalments and dunning and posts nothing. Posting or reversing the unearned premium close and remitting levies is the finance manager's.
ReinsuranceReinsurance Officer › Reinsurance ManagerThe officer sees ceded positions here; putting a treaty in force and settling a bordereau arrive with the Reinsurance add-on.
ActuarialActuary › Appointed ActuaryRead access to the dated ledgers; signing off a reserving study or an IFRS 17 run is the appointed actuary's, with the Reserving add-on.
Compliance, Audit, AdministrationAuditor › General Manager › Configuration Manager › Product ManagerThe auditor reads everything and changes nothing. Products and rate tables belong to the product manager, not to whoever can open the form.

Rules the system enforces for every role

  • Whoever raised a claim payment may not approve it, and may not pay it straight from draft.
  • A senior underwriter cannot approve an authority referral above their own binding authority.
  • Posting or reversing the unearned premium close, and remitting statutory levies, needs the Finance Manager.
  • A role that cannot take an action does not see its button, and the rule still holds however the action is attempted.
