Pay from the portal
On Pay the member says what they are paying for, then pays the SACCO’s paybill by M-Pesa. When the bank reports the payment, it is credited to the right account, loan or bill without anyone typing it.
Who: A member with portal access. Before you start: Co-op Bank collections is installed and set up: the Pay page belongs to it.
The member pays
1Say what the payment is for
The member opens Pay, chooses Savings, Loan, Charges or Shares, then the account (or the loan, or the bills) and the amount.
2Continue to pay
The member presses Continue to pay. The next page shows the paybill number, the account number to type and the amount, each with a Copy button. The member pays from M-Pesa as usual and the page confirms by itself. A member who pays from another phone types the M-Pesa code and presses I have paid.
3The payment waits to be matched
Back on Pay, the payment shows under Recent payments. It turns to Received when the bank reports it, and the money is then on the account.
Already paid without the portal?
A member who paid the paybill straight from M-Pesa opens Already paid? Enter your M-Pesa code at the bottom of Pay, types the code from the M-Pesa message, the amount and what it was for. The payment is matched to the bank’s report by that code.
Note
A payment made to the paybill with the member’s account number, without touching the portal, goes to the member’s savings on its own.
What staff see
Every payment, announced or not, is listed under . The ones the system could not match to a member wait under To Review: see Co-op Bank collections.
What the member may be told
