A statement that ties, or it does not go
Bordereaux
Premium and claims bordereaux per treaty and period, generated from the cessions and recoveries behind them. The bordereau states what it expects from the period and what its lines add up to; an empty bordereau, or one whose lines do not tie to the cessions, is refused at issue. Once issued, both parties have booked from it, so it no longer changes.

It ties back

The treaty, the lead reinsurer, the type and the period, then the expected total against the lines with the variance — zero here, so it can be issued.
The lines behind it

Every line with its date, policy, insured, gross amount, ceded amount, commission and net — the detail a reinsurer reconciles against.
