Questions
Why two companies and not one?
Commission the carrier owes is commission the brokerage expects. In one company they would be one ledger with nothing to reconcile, and the group's own business could not be told apart.
Can a brokerage user read the carrier's policies?
No. The brokerage sees its own placements and statements; the carrier's contracts stay behind the carrier's access rights.
How does the brokerage quote the group carrier?
It asks the carrier which products are open to it and what each needs, then prices the risk with the carrier's own rating service inside the database. The call is logged like an external broker's.
Is intra-group commission removed from the brokerage's income?
It is flagged, not removed. The brokerage really earned it; a group report filters it out so the group does not count it twice.
Can we see it working first?
Yes. The live demo runs both apps on one database as two companies — Bridge Assurance, the carrier, and Bridge Risk Partners, the brokerage — with this module between them. Open it and press Log in: the form is already filled in, no email address is asked for.
