Every carrier sends a different file. None of the differences are interesting.
Carrier Statements
A carrier's layout is described once — CSV or other delimited text, Excel .xlsx or fixed-width, which row carries the headings, which column is which. After that a statement is a file and a click. The carrier's own printed total is checked before anything is written, each line is matched through a cascade that records the tier it matched at, and what cannot be placed lands in an exception queue with a reason on it.
Matched, line by line

Premium and commission as the carrier sent them, what we expected, the variance, and the tier the match was made at — a line that found no candidate says so rather than being guessed.
The exception queue

Missing commission, an amount that does not agree, a line nobody could place — each with its carrier, policy, client, statement, variance and age.
Commission to chase

Expected with nothing received past the carrier's own payment window: the month it was due, the amount and the days overdue, totalled at the foot.
The reconciliation, by carrier

Expected, payable and received side by side for every carrier — what we said we were owed, what we owe out of it, and what they paid.
