AI apps (MCP)

Connect Claude, ChatGPT and other AI apps to your BridgeERP data with the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Each person signs in with a personal key and keeps their own rights.

Switch it on

  1. If AI Apps (MCP) is not in the settings, install BridgeERP AI Connector (MCP) from Apps first.
  2. Go to Settings › BridgeERP AI › AI Apps (MCP) and tick Connect AI apps.
  3. Choose who can connect: add the users to the group Connect AI apps (MCP) (administrators are in it already).
  4. Leave Allow changes off to start: AI apps can then only read.
  5. Save.

Connect your AI app

  1. In the same settings, click Create my API key (you confirm your password), give it a name and copy the key. Keep it secret: it works like your password.
  2. Copy the Server address and the Configuration for the AI app, and replace YOUR_API_KEY with your key.
  3. Add it to your AI app as a remote MCP server (for example in Claude Desktop, Claude Code or any client that supports MCP over HTTP).
  4. Ask your AI app about your business: it uses the same tools as the BridgeERP AI assistant.

Safety

  • Everything runs with the rights of the key's owner: record rules, companies and access rights apply.
  • Read-only by default. With Allow changes, AI apps can also create and update records, log notes and plan activities; the AI app asks the person before each change.
  • Daily limit caps the tool calls per person per day (2,000 by default).
  • Every call is logged in BridgeERP AI › Configuration › AI App Calls (MCP) (See the calls).
  • To cut access, delete the key in your user preferences, or switch the setting off.
The server address is your own BridgeERP address followed by /bridgeerp/mcp.
